Mary G. Smith, the editor at National Geographic Magazine who (as I describe in AAA) was instrumental in shaping my career and those of such scientists as Jacques Cousteau, Jane Goodall, and Louis Leakey, sent me this picture the day after receiving her copy of my book at her home in St. Martin, where she has retired.
Mary reports: "Here's the scene I found early this morning after leaving your wonderful book on our coffee table last night. Brandi, one of our three cats (we also have two dogs), says it makes a swell pillow."
One can only hope the book's alternative uses will result in massive additional sales.
